Humane Society, theater team up for opening of 'Charlotte's Web'

OAKS - Management at Regal Cinemas Marketplace 24 can definitely bring home the "bacon," as they'll host "Bacon" the pig in their lobby in conjunction with the opening of "Charlotte's Web" Saturday morning.

Provided by the Berks County Humane Society, "Bacon" will be visiting the lobby from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. while the book "Charlotte's Web" will be read aloud by Becky of the Trappe Book Center.

Becky and "Bacon" will be stationed alongside a split rail fence display, courtesy of Home Depot in West Norriton, to complete the entire farmland scenario.

Additional fun offerings for youngsters include a coloring contest, and a word search/scavenger hunt where children can pick up a sheet in the lobby to locate several words from the Charlotte's Web book throughout the lobby.

The remainder of the clues will be at The 99 Restaurant in Audubon. Once the sheet is complete, children will receive a free kids meal from The 99 Restaurant and a free mini-poster of Charlotte's Web.

Representatives from The 99 Restaurant will be in the lobby handing out goodies as well. (Read More)
